Data Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design and implement Open Source Data OSS solutions, including Trino, Spark, Pinot, and Druid, on Amazon EKS.

• Adopt a fully hands-on approach utilizing IDEs, Git, and rigorous coding best practices to handle infrastructure as code.

• Navigate intricate customer hierarchies and technical landscapes to identify, recommend, and execute tailored solutions.

• Create and deploy innovative, high-risk solutions that have not been previously established.

• Serve as a subject-matter expert in Open Source technologies.

• Ensure that builds are well-architected and ready for production.

• Have extensive expertise in Kubernetes and Amazon EKS.

• Demonstrate proficiency in Terraform, Helm, Docker, and Karpenter.

• Achieve a minimum rating of 3 (on a 5-point scale) in deploying and managing Data OSS software, such as Trino, Spark, or Pinot.

• Exhibit strong familiarity with Data Lakes, Spark, and Hive architectures.

• Show a willingness to engage with non-AWS and diverse Open Source ecosystems.

• Maintain a high comfort level when interacting with complex customer environments and possess an aptitude for high-stakes technical troubleshooting.

• Prior hands-on experience with Fruitstand is a plus.

• A proven history of contributing to or managing complex open-source projects in production environments is also a plus.
