Data Governance Analyst – Mid-Level

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Develop, assess, and enforce data and AI governance policies, standards, and procedures.

• Keep abreast of regulations such as Brazil’s LGPD and the GDPR, integrating their requirements into the organization’s operations.

• Create practices for data protection and privacy along with penalties for security violations.

• Perform regular audits, identify deficiencies, and recommend action plans.

• Generate reports detailing the status of data governance and outline a roadmap for enhancements.

• Facilitate committees and working groups to synchronize data guidelines and policies.

• Offer training and support to staff regarding governance practices and the ethical use of AI.

• Collaborate with architecture, development, legal, compliance, and information security teams.

• Oversee the data lifecycle, ensuring data integrity aligns with corporate strategy.

• Define data domains and maintain the data catalog and metadata dictionary in a current state.

• Evaluate and streamline the analytics ecosystem, establishing standards for data retention, deletion, and sanitization.

• Develop and execute processes for data acquisition, validation, and standardization from the source onward.

• Assess data quality using specific metrics, rules, certifications, and indicators.

• Establish roles and responsibilities, such as data owner and data steward.

• Foster a culture of accountability in the utilization of data and AI throughout the organization.

• Integrate with the Data & AI Governance team to ensure the secure, ethical, compliant, and strategic application of data and artificial intelligence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

• Proficiency with privacy and data protection regulations, including Brazil’s LGPD and the GDPR.

• Familiarity with governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, FAIR, DCAM, or equivalent frameworks.

• Understanding of Big Data technologies, including Hadoop and Spark, along with SQL and NoSQL databases.

• Experience with ETL tools, data warehouses, and cloud computing platforms, preferably AWS.

• Knowledge of data visualization tools.

• Capability to address complex issues, make informed choices, and manage several priorities.

• Strong collaboration skills across various organizational areas.

• Certifications such as CDMP, DCAM, or those related to data governance and compliance are preferred and seen as advantageous.

• Prior experience with responsible AI and algorithmic risks is preferred and regarded as a plus.

• Experience in highly regulated sectors or organizations with intricate data structures is preferred and considered beneficial.
