This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish and enhance the organization's enterprise data governance framework, operating model, and governance processes.
• Create, document, and uphold data governance policies, standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Identify key data elements and prioritize governance initiatives in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders.
• Maintain and update business glossaries, data dictionaries, and metadata repositories.
• Develop common definitions, business rules, and data standards in partnership with subject matter experts.
• Design and manage a data stewardship program across various functional business areas.
• Lead governance sessions with business leaders and data owners to address data-related challenges.
• Document data lineage, ownership, classification, and lifecycle management processes.
• Monitor and evaluate data quality across both operational and analytical data assets.
• Establish data quality rules, metrics, scorecards, and remediation strategies.
• Analyze trends in data quality and coordinate necessary corrective actions.
• Assist with data cataloging and metadata management efforts.
• Identify, classify, and safeguard sensitive data, including PHI and PII.
• Collaborate with Information Security, Compliance, and Legal teams on regulatory and contractual data obligations.
• Support governance reviews for integrations, application development, reporting, analytics, and AI projects.
• Aid in master data management initiatives involving members, clients, pharmacies, providers, medications, and other significant entities.
• Generate governance metrics, maturity assessments, and executive-level reporting.
• Produce governance documentation, process flows, training materials, and communication strategies.
• Facilitate change management related to the adoption of data governance practices.
• Engage in technology evaluations and offer governance recommendations.
• Foster data ownership, accountability, and data-driven decision-making culture.
• Stay informed on data governance trends, healthcare regulations, industry practices, and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including leadership, engineers, data teams, and external partners.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Management, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least three years of professional experience in data governance, data management, business analysis, data quality, analytics, healthcare operations, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of data governance principles, data lifecycle management, and data quality concepts.
• Proven experience in developing business requirements, process documentation, and data definitions.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to investigate data issues and determine root causes.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL for data analysis and validation.
• Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to facilitate discussions across various departments to reach consensus on data standards and business rules.
• Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
• Capability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities simultaneously.
• Experience in creating professional documentation, presentations, and process materials.
• Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration throughout the organization.
• Experience in establishing or advancing a data governance program.
• Background in healthcare, pharmacy benefit management, health insurance, pharmaceutical services, or other regulated industries.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, PHI, PII, CMS requirements, and healthcare data privacy regulations.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview.
• Experience in developing data dictionaries, business glossaries, and data lineage documentation.
• Familiarity with data quality management tools and methodologies.
• Understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) concepts and implementations.
• Experience in supporting reporting, analytics, data warehousing, or business intelligence initiatives.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure environments.
• Experience with Power BI and enterprise reporting solutions.
• Experience in supporting AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics governance initiatives.
• Knowledge of healthcare data standards including NCPDP, FHIR, HL7, and EDI transactions.
• Experience working in Agile or iterative project delivery environments.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
