Data Engineering Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop scalable and highly available data pipelines.

• Create reliable and scalable ELT pipelines for extensive datasets.

• Engage in data-intensive application projects.

• Ensure exceptional data quality and system uptime.

• Collaborate directly with analysts as part of a full-stack data team.

• Oversee and enhance warehouse governance.

• Implement enhancements in platform operations.

• Construct and maintain pipelines that ingest significant volumes of data from diverse sources.

• Write automated tests to guarantee operational reliability and uphold data integrity.

• Occasionally create data models for analytical and marketing uses.

• Work in partnership with full-time developers on essential projects.

• Take part in team meetings, Slack discussions, and social gatherings.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6–18 months of experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering.

• Ideally, experience in a dynamic, startup setting.

• Quick learning ability, irrespective of the languages and technologies involved.

• Proven experience in building scalable data pipelines and robust reporting tools.

• Background in developing backend applications, with a focus on APIs and databases.

• Capacity to dissect complex issues with logical and well-reasoned solutions.

• Candidates must reside in Canada.

• A minimum of 6-hour overlap with the Eastern Time Zone is required.

• Availability for a 40-hour work week.

• Must be living in the country where their educational institution is located for the entire internship duration.

• The internship must either be part of an academic program or pursued independently, as applicable.

• Current enrollment in a school, college, or university is a part of the application requirements.

• Must be available during core working hours of 9/10 am–5/6 pm EST, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility.

• An unofficial grade report is required with the application.
