Data Engineer – Cloud, SaaS Integrations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Estonia, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop new integrations with third-party billing and usage APIs

• Manage current integrations as vendor APIs and pricing models evolve

• Minimize the incremental cost of creating additional integrations

• Utilize AI daily for exploring the codebase and APIs, prototyping, code generation, review, debugging, testing, and documentation

• Take responsibility for data quality, including issues like duplication, gaps, race conditions, deduplication, and handling negotiated rates

• Implement checks and reconciliation processes to ensure data accuracy

• Design and construct normalized models across vendor invoices, incorporating units, currencies, time granularity, taxonomies, and cost categories

• Oversee orchestration, scheduling, and backfill processes for ingestion pipelines

• Work together with product, support, and engineering teams to identify and resolve data discrepancies

• Suggest and initiate improvements proactively without waiting for detailed specifications


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional experience in data engineering or a data-centric backend role, with responsibility for pipelines that others rely on

• Proficient in SQL

• Practical experience in building and managing data pipelines using an orchestration framework

• Experience with Dagster or Airflow is highly preferred; equivalent experience with tools like Prefect, dbt, or similar is acceptable if willing to work in Dagster/Airflow

• Strong proficiency in Python or another language commonly used for data tasks

• Familiarity with cloud data warehouses or analytical platforms such as BigQuery, ClickHouse, Snowflake, Redshift, or comparable systems

• Experience in integrating third-party REST APIs, including handling pagination, rate limits, partial failures, late-arriving and restated data, and inaccurate vendor documentation

• A keen sense for data accuracy and experience in reconciling totals and creating assertions

• An AI-enhanced working style; actively use AI tools throughout the engineering process

• Experience in developing solutions within the cloud and/or utilizing cloud services

• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal

• Highly organized, goal-focused, self-motivated, confident, thorough, and persistent
