This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.
• Collaborate with development teams to create and implement cloud-native application solutions on Humana’s Cloud 3.0 Azure platform.
• Convert business and application requirements into scalable application designs utilizing approved Cloud 3.0 design patterns.
• Provide guidance to teams on decisions regarding shared versus dedicated deployment models.
• Assist in the modernization and acceleration of applications transitioning to Cloud 3.0.
• Support teams in identifying application dependencies, integration patterns, and deployment requirements.
• Develop application code using Humana-approved technology stacks and AI tools.
• Direct development teams through the prerequisites and deliverables for Cloud 3.0 onboarding.
• Aid in setting up the application portfolio in ServiceNow and defining artifacts in iServer/LeanIX.
• Contribute to documentation regarding logical architecture, data flow, accessibility, disaster recovery, database failover, and deployment sizing.
• Enable development teams to establish Argo onboarding for application components.
• Validate CI/CD tools and pipelines for the build, test, deploy, and release processes.
• Advocate for automated testing, code quality, code coverage, release governance, and consistent deployments.
• Create reusable development patterns and standardized delivery approaches.
• Prepare teams for production release readiness, including GLAPI certification when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with approved security, architecture, and technology standards.
• Review development and deployment strategies for enterprise conformance.
• Identify risks, gaps, and non-standard implementation needs while coordinating mitigation efforts.
• Provide technical guidance throughout onboarding, development, deployment, and post-deployment troubleshooting.
• Diagnose issues related to application deployment, platform integration, and release pipelines.
• Collaborate with platform and shared services teams for cross-team issue resolution.
• Enhance engineering support documentation and reusable guidance.
• Work alongside software engineering, enterprise architecture, security and compliance, cloud platform enablement, DevOps/release engineering, and product/delivery stakeholders.
• Serve as a technical advisor on approved cloud capabilities and supported patterns.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Over 5 years of experience in cloud engineering, cloud platform operations, solution engineering, or infrastructure/application modernization.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in designing, building, and supporting solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Proficient in cloud-native architecture patterns, including scalable, resilient, and secure application design.
• Experience in deploying and supporting containerized workloads using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or similar Kubernetes platforms.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and release automation for cloud-hosted applications.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code, automation, and environment provisioning.
• Working knowledge of cloud security, identity/access management, and enterprise governance controls.
• Experience in supporting application onboarding, deployment, troubleshooting, and operational readiness in an enterprise cloud environment.
• Ability to interpret and apply architecture standards, approved technology patterns, and platform guardrails.
• Experience with application dependencies such as networking, access controls, database connectivity, high availability, and disaster recovery considerations.
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production support skills across cloud infrastructure and application layers.
• Experience collaborating with architecture, security, platform engineering, and application teams to deliver compliant cloud solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document logical architectures, data flows, and deployment requirements.
• Preferred: experience in a large, regulated enterprise environment, preferably in healthcare or another highly governed industry.
• Preferred: familiarity with Humana Cloud 3.0 onboarding standards, cloud design patterns, or enterprise cloud modernization practices.
• Preferred: experience with enterprise intake, architecture review, and governance processes.
• Preferred: experience with Argo onboarding and GitOps-based deployment models.
• Preferred: knowledge of code quality practices such as code coverage, quality gates, and release readiness standards.
• Preferred: understanding of database high availability, failover planning, and disaster recovery tiering.
• Preferred: experience supporting internal and external application accessibility requirements in Azure.
• Preferred: cloud certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or DevOps Engineer Expert.
• Preferred: experience in cloud cost optimization, resource sizing, and capacity planning.
• Preferred: experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership.
• Home internet must provide a minimum of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed.
