Azure Architect – Bicep

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Create and execute Azure-centric architectures for enterprise-level applications, data, and infrastructure.

• Design cloud solutions that are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.

• Offer architectural support to engineering and operations teams.

• Spearhead the adoption of Azure best practices, tools, and methodologies.

• Work closely with business stakeholders to formulate cloud strategies and roadmaps.

• Assess Azure services and third-party tools.

• Develop governance frameworks utilizing Azure Policies, RBAC, and tagging methodologies.

• Ensure adherence to GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, and organizational standards.

• Architect for high availability, disaster recovery, and performance enhancement.

• Oversee and improve performance using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.

• Direct cloud migration and legacy modernization initiatives.

• Apply DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code through Bicep and Azure DevOps.

• Create automation workflows, scripts, and templates with PowerShell, ARM, Bicep, and Terraform.

• Manage Azure infrastructure, encompassing virtual machines, storage, networking, and identity.

• Enhance Azure resource performance and manage costs effectively.

• Implement Azure security best practices and role-based access control.

• Automate the provisioning, monitoring, and scaling of resources.

• Diagnose Azure service and application-related issues.

• Develop backup strategies utilizing Azure Backup and Recovery Services.

• Create and validate disaster recovery strategies.

• Configure Azure Virtual Networks, VPNs, ExpressRoute, and load balancers.

• Ensure secure connectivity between on-premises and Azure environments.

• Provide Azure expertise and assistance to developers, DevOps teams, and stakeholders.

• Mentor and train junior architects, administrators, and other team members.

• Perform additional duties as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

• Over 5 years of experience in IT.

• At least 3 years focused on Azure administration and the use of Bicep.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (mandatory).

• Skilled in PowerShell, Azure CLI, Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.

• Strong grasp of networking principles, including DNS, routing, and firewalls.

• Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with hybrid cloud solutions and migration processes.

• Demonstrated experience with Azure services, infrastructure-as-code tools, and cloud security.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

• Strong communication and documentation skills.

• Ability to adapt to evolving cloud technologies and environments.

• A collaborative team player with a proactive attitude towards knowledge sharing.
