This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert on expansive global infrastructure initiatives that necessitate cross-functional IT collaboration.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to plan, design, implement, promote, and facilitate the adoption of DevOps methodologies and standards.
• Advocate for and provide expert advice on Agile development as well as Agile infrastructure principles and practices.
• Guide teams on Infrastructure as Code, provisioning, continuous integration, delivery, deployment, and test automation.
• Concentrate on prospective cloud-based technology growth opportunities that enhance organizational maturity.
• Plan, design, implement, and instruct teams on DevOps tools, best practices, cloud platforms, including AWS and GCP.
• Provide leadership within the organization to identify and eliminate infrastructure and system-level obstacles that hinder productivity and quality.
• Identify and execute process enhancements that align with DevOps methodologies and cloud utilization.
• Monitor and relay feedback on the adoption of DevOps practices.
• Offer guidance and design solutions related to infrastructure, security, deployment, scaling, metrics, and IT operations.
• Conduct technology assessments and internal audits to ensure that solutions fulfill business and security requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or an equivalent level of professional experience.
• Over 8 years of experience managing mission-critical enterprise-level systems.
• At least 8 years of experience with virtual machines, virtual networking, and storage utilizing third-party infrastructure.
• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code implementation and developing CloudFormation templates.
• Hands-on experience in developing and utilizing GCP and/or AWS cloud services.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, networking, VPC, interconnectivity, load balancing, DNS, compute, virtual machines, containers, managed relational and NoSQL databases, object stores, file stores, KMS, and encryption in transit.
• Over 5 years of experience in administering and troubleshooting Linux-based systems.
• More than 2 years of experience with Docker.
• Extensive experience in developing cloud migration strategies.
• Familiarity with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Nginx, Apache HTTP, Jetty, and Tomcat.
• Capability to navigate through the complete project lifecycle: discovery, analysis, architecture, design, documentation, building, migration, automation, and readiness.
• Competence to configure and install relational databases.
• Experience with installing and configuring monitoring and metrics collection tools, including Nagios, Cacti, Ganglia, CollectD, Graphite, and/or New Relic.
• Proficient in load and performance testing and analysis.
• Scripting experience in Python and Bash.
• AWS Certification is a plus.
• Experience with production AWS support.
• Familiarity with hybrid and multi-cloud architectures.
• Knowledge of security engineering.
• Proficiency in cloud platform design and troubleshooting.
• Ability to design secure cloud platforms.
• Experience with multi-region architecture and high availability patterns.
• Understanding of cloud observability and production support patterns.
• Proficiency in cloud troubleshooting.
