Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Assist in the design, construction, and maintenance of ETL/ELT data pipelines.

• Facilitate the ingestion of data from both internal and external sources.

• Aid in the upkeep and enhancement of data warehouse structures and data models.

• Ensure data integrity through validation, testing, and monitoring activities.

• Prepare clean, well-documented datasets to support analytics and BI use cases.

• Collaborate with senior engineers and stakeholders to gather data requirements.

• Contribute to the documentation and ongoing enhancement of the data platform.

• Adhere to software engineering best practices, including version control, testing, and CI/CD.

• Collaborate closely with Senior Data Engineers, AI, and Product teams to facilitate the growth and scaling of Allia Health Group’s data platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (considered ideal).

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a similar role, or equivalent practical experience.

• Proficient SQL skills.

• Experience with at least one programming language (Python is preferred).

• Basic knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data modeling principles.

• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Google BigQuery is preferred; AWS/Azure are acceptable).

• Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

• Strong attention to detail and a keen interest in data quality.

• Exposure to data orchestration or transformation tools such as dbt or Airflow (preferred).

• Experience with BI or analytics tools such as Looker (preferred).

• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and modern data stacks (preferred).

• Interest in analytics, AI, or machine learning applications (preferred).
