Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Peru.

📋 Description

• Collect and comprehend requirements for data migration and transformation tasks.

• Design, develop, and uphold efficient, resilient, and maintainable data pipelines.

• Work in collaboration with stakeholders to guarantee that designs and implementations align with requirements and project standards.

• Execute necessary data architectures and designs utilizing suitable tools.

• Oversee pipelines through testing, version control, CI/CD processes, review, and deployment into production.

• Monitor pipelines to ensure that requirements and expectations are fulfilled.

• Diagnose and resolve pipeline issues to sustain stability and effectiveness.

• Document processes and share knowledge within the project team.

• Stay informed about business, technical, and wider project requirements.

• Engage actively in project meetings and discussions.

• Provide insights and feedback to architecture teams.

• Ensure data quality, integrity, and availability across both upstream and downstream systems.

• Contribute to data governance and best practices in data management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient SQL skills, with a solid grasp of performance optimization and parallelism.

• Minimum of one year of substantial experience with a traditional OLTP database such as Oracle, SQL Server, or Postgres.

• Minimum of one year of substantial experience with a modern MPP data platform like Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Redshift, or BigQuery.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms, encompassing the basics of storage and security.

• Significant experience with at least one data transformation tool, such as Fivetran, Informatica, DataStage, dbt, or native cloud/data-platform tools.

• Basic understanding of Medallion data architectures.

• Fundamental skills with orchestration tools like Airflow, source code control systems such as git, and CI/CD practices.

• Strong writing and communication abilities.

• Capability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity.

• A solid grounding in data engineering with a strong interest in consulting.
