Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversee the comprehensive data migration from legacy systems to cloud platforms, encompassing data mapping, transformation, and validation within a Salesforce-centric framework.

• Evaluate and convert unstructured, document-intensive data into structured, analytics-ready formats utilizing Document AI.

• Establish data quality processes that include cleansing, deduplication, and reconciliation.

• Facilitate phased migration and system cutover while minimizing operational disruptions.

• Design, develop, and sustain MuleSoft integrations and APIs for both real-time and batch data exchange.

• Employ data transformation logic such as DataWeave and resolve integration and data-flow issues.

• Participate in the implementation of Salesforce Data 360, focusing on data harmonization, identity resolution, and the creation of unified profiles.

• Guarantee data ingestion, lineage, metadata management, and traceability throughout the ecosystem.

• Ensure adherence to data governance, privacy, and security regulations, particularly regarding PII handling.

• Collaborate within Agile teams and assist in testing, documentation, and audit preparedness across migration and integration initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to federal contract stipulations.

• Capability to acquire and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

• Must have resided in the U.S. for three full years out of the last five years.

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in data engineering, data migration, or data integration roles.

• Demonstrated experience in executing large-scale data migration projects, including transforming legacy systems.

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Salesforce data migrations, covering data modeling, data loading (e.g., Data Loader, APIs), and managing relational datasets.

• Over 2 years of experience implementing data quality, validation, and reconciliation processes during migration projects.

• A current or recent Public Trust or active Secret clearance is preferred.

• Experience supporting the DHS or other federal agencies is preferred.

• At least 1 year of experience using Informatica (e.g., PowerCenter, IICS) for ETL/ELT development, data mapping, and pipeline orchestration is preferred.

• Over 2 years of proficiency in SQL and relational data modeling concepts is preferred.

• Experience handling both structured and unstructured data, including document-based records is preferred.

• At least 1 year of experience in supporting or developing MuleSoft integrations, covering API development, data transformations, and system-to-system data flows is preferred.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including DataWeave and API-led connectivity patterns is preferred.

• Familiarity with cloud-based SaaS platforms and distributed data architectures is preferred.

• Knowledge of metadata management, data lineage, and audit frameworks is preferred.

• Experience in federal or highly regulated environments is preferred.

• Experience working with Agile delivery teams and promoting cross-functional collaboration is preferred.

• Experience in supporting large-scale, document-centric system migrations is preferred.

• Familiarity with Docusign eSignature and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) products is a plus.

• Experience with Salesforce Data 360 (Data Cloud), focusing on data harmonization and identity resolution is preferred.

• Experience with Salesforce Document AI / Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) tools for extracting structured data from documents is preferred.

• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance requirements, especially for sensitive data (e.g., PII) is preferred.
