This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and sustain ETL pipelines utilizing Python and SQL Server for data ingestion, transformation, and integration from structured files and RESTful APIs.
• Develop, test, and debug Python scripts for data processing, automation, and basic integrations.
• Construct and manage T-SQL queries, views, and stored procedures for business logic and reporting purposes.
• Contribute to the development and operation of workflows using Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, and Azure Blob Storage.
• Oversee data pipelines and address data quality issues, pipeline failures, and performance challenges.
• Adhere to data quality, security, and compliance protocols in regulated sectors such as healthcare and financial services.
• Collaborate effectively with data analysts, software engineers, and DevOps teams.
• Engage in code reviews and apply feedback appropriately.
• Produce and update documentation for data pipelines, logic, and operational procedures.
• 1–4 years of professional experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field — Required.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Python, including function writing, error handling, and code debugging — Required.
• Experience with relational databases, preferably SQL Server — Required.
• Solid understanding of SQL, including joins, aggregations, subqueries, and basic performance considerations — Required.
• Familiarity with integrating or consuming data from RESTful APIs or external data sources — Required.
• Knowledge of Git or similar version control systems — Required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a quick learning aptitude — Required.
• Exposure to Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, or Blob Storage.
• Basic grasp of ETL concepts, data validation, and pipeline monitoring.
• Familiarity with fundamental data modeling principles, including tables, keys, and relationships.
• Awareness of data security, privacy, and compliance standards such as HIPAA and SOC2.
• Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
• Basic understanding of application systems or APIs developed using .NET or similar frameworks.
• Capability to design and support scalable ETL pipelines utilizing Python and SQL Server.
• Ability to develop and optimize T-SQL stored procedures.
• Competence in supporting secure and efficient data workflows using Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, and Azure Functions.
• Ability to help maintain data quality, lineage, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in collaborating with software engineering, data analytics, security, and DevOps teams.
• Skill in monitoring and troubleshooting pipeline failures and data discrepancies.
• Capacity to participate in code reviews and continuously enhance engineering practices.
• Bachelor’s Degree — Preferred.
