Data Center Virtualization Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage VMware-based virtualization solutions.

• Oversee software-defined networking and storage systems.

• Provide support for on-premises and hybrid cloud infrastructures.

• Collaborate with vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu technologies.

• Automate operational tasks and oversee capacity management.

• Manage VMware environments at an enterprise level.

• Diagnose issues across compute, network, and storage layers.

• Facilitate disaster recovery strategies and utilize Site Recovery Manager (SRM).

• Keep pace with the evolving VMware product suite and modern cloud-native applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a relevant role.

• At least five years of direct experience in VMware platform engineering.

• In-depth knowledge of vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.

• Practical experience with vSAN and storage policy management.

• Proficiency in NSX-T or NSX-V networking.

• Strong skills in PowerCLI scripting and automation tools.

• Familiarity with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or other VMware container solutions.

• Solid understanding of disaster recovery methodologies and SRM.

• Excellent troubleshooting abilities across compute, network, and storage layers.

• Outstanding communication and teamwork skills.

• U.S. Citizens, Green Card Holders, EAD Holders, and H-1B transfer candidates may apply; sponsorship for new H-1B visa petitions is not available.

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP certifications are preferred.

• Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, or GCVE is preferred.

• Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is preferred.

• Experience with Aria Operations / vRealize Operations is preferred.

• Exposure to migration initiatives from VMware to alternative virtualization platforms is preferred.
