This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +4 more states.
• Supervise Carrier's responsibilities in data center construction initiatives.
• Direct startup, commissioning, and field modification activities for Carrier air- and water-cooled chillers in newly established data centers.
• Create and manage detailed project plans, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
• Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators to assess project effectiveness.
• Conduct progress meetings with stakeholders, addressing design issues, material delivery, and labor timelines.
• Guarantee projects achieve or surpass targeted profit margin objectives.
• Order and monitor chiller components necessary for warranty fulfillment.
• Collaborate with sales teams, prime contractors, and end-users to accomplish project objectives and deliverables.
• Act as Carrier's main point of contact among customers, commissioning authorities, general contractors, and subcontractors.
• Address customer inquiries and promote satisfaction with project delivery.
• Analyze and apply mechanical, electrical, and architectural drawings to ensure design compliance.
• Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Utilize Building Automation System integration expertise to guarantee control functionality.
• Manage change orders and mitigate scope creep.
• Project monthly revenue forecasts by estimating completion costs.
• Oversee project documentation, warranty processing, and factory-generated service details in conjunction with Service Engineering.
• Uphold stringent job safety standards throughout all projects.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of experience in project management coordinating project schedules, deliverables, and activities involving multiple stakeholders, contractors, vendors, and/or customers; OR 4+ years of experience supporting mechanical, electrical, controls, commissioning, construction, or field service projects.
• 2+ years of experience in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical mechanical systems documentation.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% of the time within the USA as dictated by business requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering; or a Master's degree/MBA (preferred).
• Experience in the data center sector with water- or air-cooled chillers (preferred).
• Expertise in commercial HVAC, including centrifugal chillers, Cooling Distribution Unit systems, and airside equipment (preferred).
• Project Management Professional certification (preferred).
• Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification or experience with Building Automation Systems (preferred).
• Strong capability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment (preferred).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences (preferred).
• Proven strategic thinking and problem-solving skills (preferred).
• Strong ability to establish rapport and trust with customers through active listening and effective solutions (preferred).
