Data Architect – Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, execution, and administration of intricate data infrastructures across various projects.

• Develop scalable, effective, and secure data solutions utilizing relational databases, cloud technologies, and big data tools.

• Handle multiple complex projects concurrently.

• Work in collaboration with senior and junior data architects and engineers to ensure successful project outcomes.

• Provide leadership and guidance on enterprise-level data integration strategies.

• Mentor both staff and senior team members in creating high-quality data architectures and pipelines across cloud and on-premise systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expertise in SQL and extensive experience with traditional RDBMS such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.

• Significant experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform for data architecture and storage solutions.

• Proficiency in Python and PySpark.

• Comprehensive understanding of ETL/ELT processes and tools, including SSIS, Informatica, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks.

• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with stakeholders and team members.

• Deep understanding of Product Management, Project Management, or Program Management philosophies and methodologies.

• Proven ability to keep abreast of industry trends and advancements.

• Demonstrated experience in providing mentorship and guidance to both junior and senior architects.

• Preferred: Master’s degree in an analytics-related field with 4 years of experience, or 8 years of professional analytics experience, or a bachelor’s degree in an analytics-related field with 6 years of experience.

• Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and Delta Lake.

• Proficiency with Kafka, AWS Kinesis, or Azure Event Hubs.

• Experience in working with APIs to retrieve and integrate external data.

• Experience in developing APIs to deliver data as a product.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows.

• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance standards such as GDPR and HIPAA.

• Experience in a healthcare environment.

• Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.

• Ability to work Monday–Friday, 8AM–5PM MST, with one on-call shift per quarter.

• Capacity to remain seated or standing for prolonged periods while using a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
