Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design MSI enterprise data and data management within the MSI ecosystem.

• Collaborate with Solution Architects, DBAs, Business Intelligence teams, and both product and business leaders to create Lakehouses and Data Warehouses.

• Contribute to the development of the data strategy.

• Implement a maintenance program that aligns the operating environment with business needs.

• Assess data architecture against evolving requirements.

• Align data requirements with new system and product designs.

• Design and implement data architectures that support data integration, advanced analytics, and data science.

• Optimize processes related to data lakes, data warehouses, and data orchestration.

• Develop philosophies and plans for enterprise data migration and integration.

• Document both conceptual and logical data models.

• Collaborate on designs for semi-structured and unstructured data.

• Lead and manage data migration and integration initiatives between operational systems.

• Contribute to the establishment of data management processes and protocols.

• Assist in data security and backup processes and protocols.

• Optimize functions related to data.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of ten years in data architecture and systems engineering, including at least ten years in a senior role responsible for corporate data security protocols.

• At least ten years of experience managing data integrations across various platforms.

• Proficiency in cloud-based data architecture, databases, and orchestration tools.

• Familiarity with Big Data technologies such as Spark and Hadoop.

• Experience with PySpark and SparkSQL.

• Knowledge of semi-structured and unstructured data architectures and schema-on-read techniques.

• Extensive experience with MS Azure SQL databases.

• Deep expertise in the MS Azure environment, Microsoft Fabric, and associated services.

• Functional knowledge of a major cloud-based database platform, including code development and maintenance.

• Experience in analyzing current environments and creating and executing optimization plans for performance and user experience.

• Proven track record in managing enterprise data across multiple unique and cloud-based environments.

• Basic understanding of project management principles.

• A Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field is required.

• A Master's degree is preferred.
