Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the current data platform for issues related to performance, scalability, modeling, and data quality.

• Create short-term enhancements and outline the long-term target data architecture.

• Revamp fact tables, dimensions, and star schemas to enhance performance and minimize redundancy.

• Design batch and incremental data processing patterns, including incremental reporting refresh.

• Work with structured, semi-structured, unstructured, and file-based data.

• Analyze and recommend Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, Data Lake, and Lakehouse technologies.

• Enhance the scalability and maintainability of Azure SQL and Power BI solutions.

• Support analytics and AI initiatives, including natural-language interaction with enterprise data.

• Diagnose data issues and deliver actionable architectural recommendations.

• Produce technical architectures, documentation, and implementation guides.

• Collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders from the planning stage through to implementation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Data Architect or Data Solutions Architect on complex enterprise data platforms.

• Proven track record in designing and implementing solutions for unstructured data and various file formats.

• In-depth knowledge of Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Databricks.

• Expertise in data warehousing, dimensional modeling, fact tables, star schemas, and analytics architectures.

• Practical experience in addressing performance and scalability challenges.

• Proficient in ETL/ELT processes, batch processing, incremental ingestion, and incremental refresh.

• Familiarity with Lakehouse, Delta Lake, and contemporary cloud data platform patterns.

• Experience in building data models optimized for Power BI.

• Capability to assess technology options based on performance, data volume, complexity, maintainability, and cost.

• Strong documentation and communication skills suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Ability to work independently, quickly grasp new environments, and develop actionable architectural plans.

• Proficient in English.

• Available full-time for 40 hours per week.
