Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Examine extensive and intricate data sets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights.

• Create and execute comprehensive data architectures for ingestion, storage, processing, and consumption.

• Develop and uphold both logical and physical data models, data flows, and architecture documentation.

• Construct and refine data models for dashboards, reporting, and data visualization tools.

• Utilize data lakes, data warehouses, lakehouses, batch processing, event-driven processing, and change data capture paradigms.

• Design solutions that are cloud-native and cloud-compatible, including modernization and migration plans.

• Ensure that data solutions comply with governance, security, privacy, and regulatory standards.

• Plan for scalability, reliability, and performance through partitioning and schema optimization.

• Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, security, and business teams.

• Engage in architecture and design evaluations, identifying risks, trade-offs, and optimization possibilities.

• Support DevOps and DataOps methodologies, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.

• Offer technical direction and mentorship on best practices for data architecture and modeling.

• Convert business requirements into data quality benchmarks and actionable data solutions.

• Enhance models, methodologies, and architectures based on feedback and changing business requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or equivalent experience.

• 7–10 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, analytics engineering, or related technical fields.

• At least 5+ years in a data-centric role.

• Strong proficiency in logical and physical data modeling.

• Familiarity with ER/Studio, ERwin, or PowerDesigner.

• Advanced SQL expertise.

• Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DB2, or Redshift.

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Familiarity with EMR or Spark.

• Solid understanding of data lakes, data warehouses, lakehouses, and streaming platforms.

• Practical experience with distributed data processing, data integration, and NoSQL technologies.

• Experience with graph, key-value, and columnar technologies.

• Familiarity with Tableau, Cognos, BusinessObjects, MicroStrategy, SAS, or SPSS.

• Proficient in Python, R, or SQL.

• Understanding of data governance, data quality, data privacy, and security protocols.

• Experience in DevOps and DataOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.

• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
