Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Serve as a hands-on technical expert, designing the company's cloud and data architecture while contributing to solution-shaping efforts.

• Collaborate with enterprise architects, senior architects, business leaders, and IT teams to establish solution architectures.

• Assist in modernization initiatives aimed at enhancing performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

• Work alongside the Innovation Lab to investigate Generative AI and Advanced Analytics technologies.

• Convert experimental findings into practical patterns and actionable recommendations for delivery teams.

• Impact architectural decisions and aid in the formulation of technology standards and governance.

• Document target-state architectures, reference architectures, and essential dependencies.

• Design and facilitate the modernization and migration of complex systems to scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures.

• Assess and prototype new technologies and applications.

• Contribute insights to business cases and recommendations.

• Guide the adoption of architectural standards, best practices, and governance expectations.

• Collaborate with business and engineering teams on comprehensive end-to-end solutions.

• Offer architectural guidance in process design, system orchestration, and enterprise integration.

• Advocate for security, resilience, and scalability across data platforms and solutions.

• Create reusable patterns, documentation of decisions, and lessons learned.

• Support full-stack development teams throughout solution design and implementation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in delivering data-intensive solutions, including data engineering, analytics engineering, data platforms, BI, or similar roles.

• At least 1 year of proven ownership in solution design for moderately complex initiatives.

• Experience across various data-focused roles, such as Data Engineer, Data Architect, Database Administrator, BI or Analytics Engineer, Data Scientist, data governance, or equivalent.

• Proficiency in architecture frameworks, performance optimization, availability, caching, monitoring, scalability, and security.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking skills.

• Capability to influence cross-functional teams and clearly communicate architectural decisions in distributed environments.

• Expertise in designing data and cloud architectures, preferably with AWS.

• Familiarity with systems such as Snowflake or Redshift.

• Ability to transform complex data into actionable business insights and reporting solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Nice-to-have experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, orchestration, data quality, and both batch and near-real-time workloads.

• Nice-to-have experience with streaming and event-driven data technologies like Kafka or Kinesis.

• Nice-to-have API and integration experience, including API governance, versioning, security, and event-driven integration.

• Nice-to-have experience in data platform modernization with Spark or similar distributed computing.

• Nice-to-have knowledge in data security and privacy practices, including encryption, masking, tokenization, access controls, and auditability.

• Nice-to-have experience in FinOps, workload right-sizing, storage optimization, and performance engineering.

• Nice-to-have experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes, or EKS.

• Nice-to-have applied AI and GenAI experience.

• Nice-to-have experience with Java, microservices, and third-party API integration.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification is a plus.

• Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
