Data Analyst II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Provide scheduled and on-demand reports to support Medicare Advantage Operations.

• Collaborate with teams including Claims, Membership, Medical Management, Sales & Marketing, Change Management, and the STARS team.

• Review, extract, and analyze data related to procedures, processes, and requirements.

• Generate reports to pinpoint problematic areas and assist in modifying or eliminating operational issues.

• Support complex analyses and sophisticated data compilation, verification, and interpretation.

• Conduct focused analyses as required.

• Develop data search programs to locate relevant data for system or operational improvements and modifications.

• Document reporting procedures to enable staff to independently generate ad hoc reports.

• Design, code, and maintain intricate database programs for data extraction and analysis that support financial and operational decisions.

• Execute queries to extract data from DB2 relational databases on the host mainframe to produce reports for Medicare Advantage Operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the job.

• An associate degree combined with an additional 2 years of job-related experience, totaling 4 years of required work experience, or 6 years of overall required work experience.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in research and analysis.

• Strong organizational, customer service, communication, and analytical skills.

• Capability to perform complex mathematical calculations.

• Advanced understanding of mathematical and statistical concepts.

• Familiarity with relevant computer support systems.

• Proficiency in programming languages across various software platforms, including DB2, SQL, and/or relational databases.

• Ability to analyze data results, identify sources of aberrant statistics, and resolve data-related issues.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

• Knowledge of tools like Visual Basic and Macros that aid in automating reporting processes.

• This position is not eligible for sponsorship at present or in the future.

• Preferred: 1 year of experience in Medicare Advantage.

• Preferred: 1 year of experience utilizing IBM Query Management Facility mainframe software (QMF) or QMF for Workstation in Windows.

• Preferred: 2 years of experience with SQL or DB2 programming languages.
