Dairy Technical Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical expertise and support within a designated sales territory.

• Assist in direct selling efforts, encompassing farmgate sales, nutritional consultations, and animal management advice.

• Collaborate with sales teams and key dealers to engage with major accounts.

• Work closely with the Area Sales Manager and Sales Specialists to achieve sales objectives.

• Keep abreast of research, market trends, and industry advancements through associations, vendors, and competitors.

• Collect and evaluate technical market data to inform strategic decision-making.

• Develop content and present technical sales information at events, meetings, podcasts, expos, and conferences.

• Assist in the formulation and implementation of marketing strategies and tactics.

• Convey dairy technical knowledge through editorial reviews and the creation of marketing materials.

• Simplify product science into language that is accessible to consumers.

• Address technical inquiries from customers.

• Provide technical writing for reports and recommendations.

• Offer technical insights for product applications and the development of new products.

• Aid in the launch of services and new products.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD or DVM with 5–9 years of relevant experience preferred; Master’s degree with 10+ years of field experience acceptable.

• Strong knowledge of the dairy industry.

• Comprehensive understanding of species nutritional needs and management practices.

• Exceptional communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.

• Proven experience in providing technical support and training to customers.

• Capability to translate intricate scientific concepts into user-friendly applications.

• Team-oriented mindset with a proven ability to collaborate across departments.

• Must reside within the North Central Division area.

• Preparedness to travel up to 80% of the time.
