Cytogenetics Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Conduct chromosome analysis, which includes imaging and karyotyping of cytogenetic specimens.

• Examine test requisitions to collect relevant information for analysis.

• Summarize test findings utilizing ISCN nomenclature.

• Differentiate between normal and abnormal test outcomes.

• Execute and assess troubleshooting procedures.

• Record corrective measures as necessary.

• Adhere to company policies and procedures.

• Work from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with some degree of flexibility.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Cytogenetics clinical laboratory.

• At least 2 years of experience in cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads using computerized images.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Oncology cytogenetics.

• Proficient computer skills, including effective use of the Internet, email, text messaging, chat applications, and familiarity with Microsoft Office.

• Strong oral, written, and presentation communication abilities.

• Capable of active listening and providing constructive feedback.

• Emphasis on patient care.

• Ability to manage time, prioritize conflicting tasks, handle stress, and pursue professional development.

• Self-driven and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Dedicated, HIPAA-compliant home office environment that is not shared.

• Wired internet connection with a minimum speed of 100 mb/sec.

• Capability to work remotely in an efficient manner within a fast-paced, multi-site setting while managing competing priorities.

• ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG) is preferred.

• At least 1 year of FISH Oncology Cytogenetics experience is preferred.
