Cytogenetics Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Conduct chromosome analysis, including imaging and karyotyping of cytogenetic samples.

• Review test requests and collect relevant information for analysis.

• Summarize test findings utilizing ISCN nomenclature.

• Differentiate between normal and abnormal test outcomes.

• Execute troubleshooting, assess results, and document corrective measures.

• Adhere to company policies and protocols.

• Primarily focus on oncology chromosomes using Applied Spectral Imaging software.

• May perform onscreen FISH analysis utilizing Metasystems Neon.

• Work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with some flexibility.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Cytogenetics clinical laboratory.

• At least 2 years of experience performing cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized imaging.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Oncology cytogenetics.

• Proficient computer skills, including effective use of the Internet, email, text messaging, chat applications, and familiarity with Microsoft Office.

• Strong oral, written, and presentation communication abilities.

• Active listening skills and the capacity to provide constructive feedback.

• A solid focus on patient care.

• Capability to manage time, handle conflicting priorities, and maintain professional development under stress.

• Self-driven and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

• A dedicated home office space compliant with HIPAA regulations.

• Wired internet connection with a minimum speed of 100 mb/sec.

• Ability to work remotely in a dynamic, multi-site environment while managing competing priorities and demands.
