Cybersecurity Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Work collaboratively with Cybersecurity, Engineering, and Service teams to resolve escalated issues.

• Address escalated issues promptly and efficiently.

• Respond to and take action on alerts arising from SOC escalations and security tools.

• Ensure the ongoing health and security of the platform.

• Oversee incident coordination among internal and external parties in accordance with regulatory requirements.

• Communicate effectively with management, colleagues, and clients.

• Stay informed about security and control challenges related to emerging technologies.

• Plan, implement, and support new security projects and initiatives.

• Take ownership and follow through on unresolved issues until resolution.

• Provide mentorship to junior team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Understanding of industry-standard tools and applications like Palo Alto, Cisco Meraki, SonicWall, Fortigate, SentinelOne, ThreatLocker, MS Defender, G-Suite, Content Filtering, and Protective DNS.

• Extensive experience with the Incident Response lifecycle.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office365 and Azure technologies.

• Knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops technologies.

• Experience with open-source intelligence gathering.

• Proficiency in scripting and working with API endpoints such as MS Graph.

• Competence in navigating and utilizing a ticketing system like ConnectWise or ServiceNow.

• Experience in change management and security remediation processes.

• Proficient in security documentation, technical writing, and policy development.

• Capability to present technical/security information or concepts in an accessible manner.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in team projects.

• Capacity to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Willingness to be on-call for nights, weekends, and emergency situations as needed.

• At least 5 years of experience in a systems engineering or technical security capacity.

• Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Microsoft Certified (MCSE) or equivalent certification is advantageous.

• Security certifications such as CompTIA CySA, Security+, Network+, or ISC2 CCSP are preferred.
