Customer Service Representative – Utility Billing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +21 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist customers with inquiries related to their natural gas bills and account balances.

• Process and assist with customer payments efficiently.

• Investigate and resolve account-related issues in a timely manner.

• Clearly explain billing details, charges, and available payment options.

• Update and maintain precise customer account information.

• Address customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and efficient manner.

• Adhere to established protocols and privacy regulations.

• Accurately document customer interactions.

• Escalate issues when further assistance or authorization is needed.

• Deliver exceptional customer service in every interaction.

• Work hours are from 9:00am to 9:00pm CST, Monday through Friday, including every other weekend.

• Complete paid training, usually scheduled from 8:00am to 5:00pm CST, Monday through Friday.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of prior experience in customer service, a call center, or office environment is preferred.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Comfortable working with billing and account-related information.

• Strong attention to detail is essential.

• Ability to navigate multiple computer systems effectively.

• Maintain a professional and empathetic attitude towards customer concerns.

• Dependable attendance and punctuality are required.

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Comfortable managing potentially challenging customer interactions.

• Must be open to cross-training on other accounts.

• Residency in AL, GA, ID, IA, IN, KS, LA, MI, MS, NV, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TX, TN, UT, VA, WV, WI, or WY is mandatory.

• Shift differential: an additional $1/hr for night and weekend shifts.

• Paid training, usually lasting 1 week.

• Full-time status with 40 hours per week.
