Customer Delivery Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Serve as the technical expert for SONiC deployments on Cisco Silicon One platforms within extensive production settings.

• Offer architectural direction and operational assistance for hyperscale data center architectures that support AI/ML workloads.

• Diagnose issues related to SONiC containers, Linux networking, routing protocols, and ASIC forwarding behaviors.

• Utilize Silicon One SDK tools and ASIC telemetry to assess hardware and software interactions.

• Provide support for both production and pre-production SONiC validation environments on Cisco platforms, including NCS5500, Catalyst 8000, Nexus 3000/9000, and NCS1K.

• Collaborate with Cisco silicon architects, SONiC developers, and software engineering teams to troubleshoot defects and enhance platform capabilities.

• Enhance AI/ML cluster network fabrics by implementing RoCE and other advanced transport mechanisms.

• Guide the integration of DevOps-driven operational frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.

• Establish observability, telemetry, and automated validation systems.

• Act as a reliable technical consultant for customer network engineering and infrastructure teams.

• Work alongside customer network platform engineering, infrastructure, and AI cluster networking teams.

• Contribute to the development of open networking and AI-centric data center architectures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Over 10 years of experience in networking, distributed systems, or hyperscale infrastructure.

• Extensive knowledge of data center networking architectures and large-scale routing environments.

• Exceptional troubleshooting abilities across software, hardware, and network protocols.

• Experience operating in large production environments with minimal oversight.

• Profound hands-on experience with SONiC architecture and its operations.

• Understanding of SAI, Redis DB model, containerized services, and control-plane architecture.

• Strong familiarity with the Linux networking stack and kernel internals.

• Experience diagnosing network behavior using Linux tools and system-level diagnostics.

• Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes for service orchestration.

• Experience with merchant silicon or programmable ASIC platforms.

• Exposure to Cisco Silicon One architecture or similar programmable switching silicon.

• Capability to analyze packet forwarding pathways and hardware counters.

• Experience supporting AI cluster networking or HPC fabrics.

• Knowledge of RoCE networking, congestion management, and performance enhancement.

• Strong background in automation using Python and Linux tools.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated infrastructure validation.

• Knowledge of open-source development practices and Git-based collaboration.

• In-depth understanding of BGP, ISIS, MPLS, Segment Routing, VXLAN/EVPN, IPv6, and data center leaf-spine architectures.

• Preferred: experience managing hyperscale cloud or web-scale infrastructure.

• Preferred: hands-on experience with Cisco Silicon One systems.

• Preferred: contributions to SONiC or other open networking initiatives.

• Preferred: CCIE or equivalent experience.

• Preferred: experience integrating network telemetry, streaming analytics, and observability platforms.
