Curriculum Designer – Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Double Science

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Review, modify, and enhance existing materials to create a comprehensive self-paced curriculum.

• Craft lessons, explanations, worked examples, activities, and assessments following established templates, structures, and quality standards.

• Write in accordance with relevant iGCSE and International A-Level specifications, exam board requirements, and marking schemes.

• Design assessments that are auto-marked, self-checking, and allow for teacher feedback.

• Organize and sequence content for independent learners utilizing chunking, scaffolding, retrieval practice, and purposeful digital interactions.

• Develop courses within school systems adhering to agreed templates, branding, and available technology.

• Produce multimedia resources such as video lessons, voiceovers, screencasts, interactive tools, and knowledge checks.

• Implement accessibility and inclusion standards, including SEND awareness, readability, alt text, and WCAG considerations.

• Adhere to production schedules and meet agreed milestones.

• Submit drafts for editorial and quality assurance review and revise according to feedback.

• Utilize third-party content legally and create compliant, properly owned intellectual property for long-term use.

⛳️ Requirements

• Current or recently qualified teacher with strong subject and curriculum expertise.

• Experience in developing lesson materials for online delivery.

• Familiarity with asynchronous lesson design and course development.

• Understanding of how to design for independent, self-paced learners.

• Experience in assessment design aligned with iGCSE and International A-Level specifications, exam board requirements, and marking schemes.

• Experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS) or Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

• Willingness and capability to record video lessons and voiceovers; comfortable on camera and microphone.

• Awareness of accessibility and inclusion (SEND, WCAG, readability).

• Self-motivated and self-managing; capable of meeting deadlines, comfortable working remotely and autonomously, and confident in taking ownership of a course from initial specification through to final build.

• Experience in synchronous lesson design.

• Familiarity with iGCSE and International A-Level exam board requirements and specification alignment.

• Interest in interactive content authoring and using digital tools for active, responsive, and engaging learning.

• Basic media editing skills.

• Understanding of GDPR, copyright/licensing, and safeguarding in online education.

• Must be willing to work from the UK.
