Curriculum Designer – MFL, French, Spanish, German

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Review, modify, and create existing materials into a comprehensive self-paced curriculum.

• Write lessons, explanations, worked examples, activities, and assessments.

• Ensure content is aligned with iGCSE and International A-Level specifications, exam-board requirements, and marking schemes.

• Design assessments that are auto-marked, self-checking, and provide teacher feedback.

• Organize and sequence content for independent learners utilizing chunking, scaffolding, retrieval practice, and intentional digital interactions.

• Develop courses within school systems following established templates, structures, and branding standards.

• Create multimodal resources such as video lessons, voiceovers, screencasts, interactive tools, knowledge checks, and other digital learning assets.

• Implement accessibility and inclusion principles, including SEND awareness, readability, alt text, and WCAG guidelines.

• Adhere to production schedules and agreed course milestones.

• Submit drafts for editorial and quality assurance review, revise based on feedback, and secure final approval.

• Utilize third-party content legally and develop compliant, properly owned intellectual property for long-term use.

• Contribute to shaping King's InterHigh's asynchronous learning product and establish high-quality self-paced online learning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Current or former teacher with a teaching qualification and robust subject and curriculum expertise.

• Experience in developing lesson materials for online delivery.

• Knowledge of asynchronous lesson design and course development.

• Understanding of designing for independent, self-paced learners.

• Assessment design that aligns with iGCSE and International A-Level specifications, exam-board requirements, and marking schemes.

• Familiarity with an LMS or VLE.

• Willingness and ability to record video lessons and voiceovers, comfortable on camera and microphone.

• Awareness of accessibility and inclusion (SEND, WCAG, readability).

• Self-motivated and capable of managing oneself; meets deadlines, works comfortably in remote and autonomous settings, and confidently takes ownership of a course from initial specification through to final build.

• Experience in synchronous lesson design (highly valued).

• Familiarity with iGCSE and International A-Level exam-board requirements and specification alignment (highly valued).

• Proficiency in interactive content authoring (highly valued).

• Basic media editing skills (highly valued).

• Understanding of GDPR, copyright/licensing, and safeguarding in online education (highly valued).

• Must be willing to work from the UK.
