Curriculum Designer – Maths, iGCSE, A Level

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Review, modify, and develop current materials into a comprehensive self-paced Maths iGCSE and International A-Level curriculum.

• Create lessons, explanations, worked examples, activities, and assessments following established templates, structures, and quality standards.

• Ensure content is aligned with pertinent specifications, exam-board requirements, and marking schemes.

• Design assessments that are auto-marked, self-checking, and provide teacher feedback.

• Organize and sequence content for independent learners using techniques such as chunking, scaffolding, retrieval practice, and intentional digital interactions.

• Construct courses within school systems utilizing agreed templates, branding, and available technology.

• Develop multimodal resources, including video lessons, voiceovers, screencasts, interactive tools, knowledge checks, and digital learning assets.

• Implement accessibility and inclusion standards, with a focus on SEND awareness, readability, alt text, and WCAG considerations.

• Adhere to production schedules and delivery deadlines.

• Submit drafts for editorial and QA review, revise based on feedback, and secure final approval.

• Ensure that third-party content is legally licensed and that intellectual property is compliant and properly owned for long-term usage.

⛳️ Requirements

• Current or recently qualified teacher with robust subject and curriculum knowledge.

• Experience in developing lesson materials for online formats.

• Familiarity with asynchronous lesson design and course development.

• Understanding of designing for independent, self-paced learners.

• Experience in assessment design aligned with iGCSE and International A-Level specifications, exam-board requirements, and marking schemes.

• Proficient in working with a Learning Management System (LMS) or Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

• Willingness and capability to record video lessons and voiceovers; comfortable on camera and microphone.

• Awareness of accessibility and inclusion, including SEND, WCAG, and readability standards.

• Self-motivated and capable of managing oneself; able to meet deadlines, work remotely, autonomously, and take ownership from specification to finished product.

• Highly valued: experience in synchronous lesson design.

• Highly valued: familiarity with iGCSE and International A-Level exam-board requirements and specification alignment.

• Highly valued: experience in interactive content creation and interest in digital learning tools.

• Highly valued: basic media editing skills.

• Highly valued: understanding of GDPR, copyright/licensing, and safeguarding in online education.

• Must be willing to work from the UK.

• Teaching qualification is mandatory.
