This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Deliver targeted Culinary Arts CTE course material in a virtual setting.
• Provide instruction, assistance, and direction while managing the educational process tailored to individual student requirements.
• Track student progress through K12's learning management system.
• Collaborate with students and parents to enhance learning and establish and monitor post-secondary success plans utilizing online resources.
• Implement K12 curriculum, Online School, State, Common Core, and industry-specific educational standards.
• Assist students and families with placement, online school setup, curriculum, and instructional challenges.
• Create instructional materials and strategies to complement and improve the curriculum.
• Communicate regularly with students via email or phone and respond to inquiries, typically within one business day.
• Engage in weekly teacher conference calls and attend scheduled in-person and virtual staff meetings.
• Maintain records of student academic progress and generate formal reports.
• Notify administrators about any concerns related to student progress and attendance.
• Manage placement adjustments and complete semester and end-of-year progress reports.
• Organize orientation, training, social, and educational events for students and their families.
• Create a monthly newsletter or update the website.
• Travel to designated geographic locations to assist students and participate in school events.
• Conduct student/parent orientations.
• Prepare students for and oversee state assessments; proctor site-based examinations.
• Evaluate students in accordance with established policies.
• Arizona residency is required.
• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience in a virtual environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Arizona Standard Career and Technical Education Family Consumer Sciences certificate, or Standard Specialized Career and Technical Education Family and Consumer Sciences certificate.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Ability to pass necessary background checks.
• Strong knowledge of content and subject matter.
• Capability to support and guide both adults and students.
• Familiarity with databases used by K12.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and web applications.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% for in-person professional development, student assessments, and/or as required by the school.
• Experience as an online learner (preferred).
• Familiarity with project-based learning (preferred).
• Experience using a student information system or other databases (preferred).
• Ability to assist adults with basic computer setup and navigation (preferred).
