Crop Claims Representative – NW Kansas / NE Colorado

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversees an inventory of claims related to crops to assess compensability and liability.

• Executes investigations on claims to verify coverage and establish liability, compensability, and damages.

• Conducts fieldwork related to crops and utilizes expertise in grain marketing.

• Determines and may negotiate suitable claim settlements and reserves within authorized limits.

• May participate in arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or court trials.

• Communicates routine to moderately complex information about coverage and settlements to insured parties, claimants, and external stakeholders.

• May authorize disbursements within assigned authority limits and ensure prompt payment.

• Keeps precise and comprehensive claim files, encompassing correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements.

• Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Travels up to 40% within the designated territory.

⛳️ Requirements

• Typically, a minimum of 6 months of experience in general agriculture, agricultural business/sales, agronomy, and/or grain merchandising.

• Experience in Crop Insurance is highly desirable.

• Capability to travel up to 40% within the designated territory.

• Requires continuous and extended walking and standing.

• Involves frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Requires regular climbing, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and crawling.

• Necessitates overhead reaching and grasping.

• Requires consistent and predictable attendance.

• Requires the ability to perform visual inspections.

• Requires outdoor work in adverse weather conditions.

• Involves frequent travel.

• May necessitate the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
