Crop Claims Representative, Northwest North Dakota

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Dakota.

📋 Description

• Oversee a portfolio of crop-related claims to assess compensability and liability.

• Execute claim investigations to verify coverage and ascertain liability, compensability, and damages.

• Carry out fieldwork related to crops and leverage knowledge of grain marketing.

• Identify and potentially negotiate claim settlements and reserves within designated authority limits.

• Participate in arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as required.

• Relay routine to moderately complex coverage and settlement details to insured parties, claimants, and external stakeholders.

• Approve payments within assigned authority thresholds while ensuring timely disbursement.

• Keep precise and comprehensive claim files, including correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements.

• Execute other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 months of experience in general agriculture, agricultural business/sales, agronomy, and/or grain merchandising.

• Experience in Crop Insurance is highly advantageous.

• Willingness to travel up to 40% within the designated territory.

• Ability to engage in continuous and prolonged walking and standing activities.

• Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Regular climbing, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and crawling activities.

• Capability for overhead reaching and grasping.

• Consistent and predictable attendance is required.

• Proficiency in conducting visual inspections.

• Willingness to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.

• Frequent travel is necessary.

• May require the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
