Crop Claims Representative – Eastern Iowa

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Oversee a portfolio of crop-related claims to assess compensability and liability.

• Execute claim investigations to verify coverage and establish liability, compensability, and damages.

• Conduct fieldwork related to crops and leverage expertise in grain marketing.

• Evaluate and negotiate claim settlements and reserves within designated authority limits.

• Participate in arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as necessary.

• Communicate routine to moderately complex coverage and settlement details to insured parties, claimants, and external collaborators.

• Approve payments within assigned authority thresholds and ensure prompt disbursement.

• Maintain precise and comprehensive claim files, including correspondence, reports, and settlement documents.

• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience in general agriculture, agricultural business/sales, agronomy, and/or grain merchandising.

• Experience in Crop Insurance is highly advantageous.

• Willingness to travel up to 40% within the designated territory.

• Ability to engage in continuous and prolonged walking and standing activities.

• Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Regular climbing, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and crawling activities required.

• Capability for overhead reaching and grasping.

• Consistent and reliable attendance is essential.

• Ability to perform visual inspections.

• Capacity to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.

• Frequent travel may be necessary.

• May require the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
