This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
• Conduct thorough field inspections, which include interpreting maps and aerial photographs, as well as measuring fields and storage bins.
• Engage in discussions with farmers regarding findings related to crop loss on intricate, non-standard, challenging, and contentious claims.
• Effectively communicate complex regulations and their interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry professionals.
• Perform investigations related to crop damage.
• Document and relay loss information to accurately assess potential indemnities.
• Collect pertinent facts, apply relevant laws, and establish foundational negligence principles.
• Complete evaluations and audits of lower-level adjusters as assigned.
• Maintain an updated understanding of regulatory and company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal standards.
• Contribute to team initiatives and related outcomes as required.
• Travel approximately 50% of the time to cover the designated territory.
• High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in crop insurance and claims adjusting.
• Certification in the Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program (CAPP) is mandatory.
• Reliable personal transportation for travel within the assigned territory.
• Capability to walk in agricultural fields for distances up to 3 miles.
• Ability to climb agricultural storage bins reaching heights of up to 25 feet.
• Proficient in lifting weights between 25 lbs. to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various temperature and weather conditions.
• Experience with fruit crops, particularly apples, is preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are preferred.
• Strong organizational and prioritization abilities are preferred.
• Previous experience as a Crop Claims Field Adjuster is preferred.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office are preferred.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; employment sponsorship is not available.
• Eligibility for a short-term incentive bonus set at 5%.
