Creole VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Liberia.

📋 Description

• Professionally handle incoming calls, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Have a solid understanding of industry-specific vocabulary, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without additions, omissions, or substitutions.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and thorough message interpretation.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Maintain open communication and report to your team leader.

• Follow dress code guidelines for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Creole."

• At least 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a recognized interpretation company.

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is advantageous.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare sector is a plus (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• High emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
