This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland, +2 more countries.
• Develop and lead the credit risk framework for SME credit cards and overdraft offerings.
• Manage and enhance Finom’s credit risk engine, encompassing framework, guidance, analytics, and technical configurations.
• Take ownership of the comprehensive credit risk framework, which includes eligibility, underwriting, scoring models, limit setting, risk appetite, monitoring, and reporting.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to integrate risk considerations into product design and strategy.
• Construct the data strategy utilizing transactional, bureau, behavioral, accounting, government registry, and first-party account data.
• Advise ML and Data Science teams in the creation, validation, and refinement of credit scoring and related risk models.
• Establish and manage the portfolio monitoring system.
• Design, develop, and calibrate early warning indicators and credit monitoring frameworks.
• Serve as a robust Second Line of Defense, ensuring effective origination, monitoring, and collection processes.
• Own and continually enhance credit risk policies, risk appetite frameworks, and reporting mechanisms.
• Ensure compliance with EMI/PS4 regulatory standards and evolving European regulations.
• Work closely with the CRO, Product teams, ML & Data Science, Operations, and Engineering departments.
• Over 5 years of experience in credit risk, with practical expertise in SME lending and credit card products.
• Extensive experience in automated underwriting and risk modeling within fintech or digital banking settings.
• A STEM/quantitative degree in physics, data science, applied mathematics, statistics, econometrics, or quantitative finance is highly advantageous.
• Strong comprehension of risk governance, policies, and processes.
• An AI-native approach; adept at utilizing AI tools and agents.
• A mindset focused on unit economics and product-led growth.
• Highly collaborative, capable of aligning Product, Legal, Finance, Engineering, and ML/DS stakeholders.
• Possess analytical, structured, and pragmatic problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of EMI/PS4 regulations and reporting requirements is a plus.
• Familiarity with European regulatory frameworks (DNB, ECB/EBA, Basel) is beneficial.
• Practical experience with SME or credit card models in Germany, Italy, or the Netherlands is a plus.
