Credit Associate, Fund & Sponsor Banking

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Act as the credit expert for Relationship Managers to foster loan expansion across the bank's lending products.

• Suggest suitable credit frameworks while upholding the bank's credit risk standards.

• Evaluate and analyze potential client performance and debt requirements.

• Collaborate with the credit team to determine the credit viability of new debt prospects.

• Establish connections with potential borrowers, Relationship Managers, current clients, and both internal and external stakeholders.

• Oversee the performance of existing borrowers and pinpoint any discrepancies from established covenants.

• Proactively communicate credit concerns to Relationship Managers to mitigate credit risks.

• Conduct financial and collateral evaluations for both new and current borrowers.

• Execute historical trend assessments and financial forecasting.

• Assess financial covenants and other risk evaluations in accordance with Loan & Security Agreements.

• Utilize bank loan systems to input financial data, prepare analyses, and generate management reports and summaries.

• Engage with clients, Relationship Managers, and bank leadership to address loan-related issues and inquiries.

• Support Relationship Managers with covenant reporting and payment collection information.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 4 years of pertinent banking experience is essential.

• Experience in analyzing Fund and Sponsor Banking transactions.

• Ideal candidates will have experience underwriting C&I credits.

• Ability to communicate clearly across all levels of the organization and with external parties.

• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.

• Capacity to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting strict deadlines.

• Strong focus on detail and precision.

• Robust analytical skills and resourcefulness for comprehensive industry and market evaluations.

• Proficiency in analyzing profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

• Ability to work autonomously and tackle problems effectively.

• Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Comfortable using AI-driven underwriting and analysis software.
