This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design impactful and compelling experiences for Compassion supporters.
• Take ownership of ongoing communications that keep supporters engaged with Compassion’s mission.
• Create content for fundraising initiatives, child sponsorship communications, digital media, and various creative projects.
• Act as Managing Editor for the Compassion Explorer children's magazine.
• Influence the creative and editorial direction for each issue of the magazine.
• Generate innovative ideas and concepts for various platforms from inception to final execution.
• Propose inventive solutions aligned with communication strategies and objectives.
• Write and edit marketing and fundraising materials for email, web, and print formats.
• Craft content in Compassion’s brand style and voice tailored to diverse audiences and age groups.
• Develop naming and headline ideas, technical writing, creative content, direct response appeals, and fundraising copy.
• Collaborate with writers, designers, marketers, and subject-matter experts effectively.
• Oversee and deliver multiple projects concurrently.
• Drive creative initiatives from project briefs to support and enhance Compassion’s mission.
• Produce high-quality, results-driven, brand-enhancing creative solutions.
• Follow brand standards and messaging guidelines meticulously.
• Mentor and provide guidance to fellow creative professionals and support staff.
• Champion child advocacy and prioritize child protection in all decision-making processes.
• Report any concerns regarding child abuse, neglect, or exploitation through Compassion’s internal reporting system.
• Applications will only be considered if they include portfolios or samples.
• Around 7 years of professional experience in writing, copywriting, content marketing, editorial, or communications.
• Demonstrated ability to write across a variety of content types and communication channels.
• Strong skills in storytelling, editing, and content development with a dedication to quality and brand consistency.
• Proven capacity to collaborate effectively with writers, designers, marketers, and other stakeholders.
• Familiarity with international development, child sponsorship, or global ministry contexts is preferred.
• Experience with Workfront, Adobe InCopy, or similar content management systems is preferred.
• Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Consistently exemplifies a Christ-like demeanor; actively prays for Compassion’s ministry.
• Complies with Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct.
