This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Evaluate incoming opportunities and spearhead initial ideation in collaboration with Game Design, Art, Tech, and Production teams.
• Convert client requirements, target audiences, themes, and business objectives into a feasible product vision, core experience, and scope.
• Establish preliminary budgets, timelines, resource requirements, feasibility assessments, and dependencies in conjunction with the Project Manager and discipline leads.
• Deliver proposals, assess trade-offs, and offer recommendations to client-facing and business stakeholders.
• Steer the overarching Game Design Document (GDD) and creative vision encompassing the core gameplay loop, features, content, player experience, and visual aesthetics.
• Conduct design and art reviews, providing constructive and actionable feedback.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager on release strategies, milestones, review checkpoints, and scope determinations.
• Ensure alignment between business stakeholders and the development team throughout the project lifecycle.
• Clearly communicate decisions, progress updates, and necessary trade-offs.
• Approximately five years of experience in game design, creative production, game production, or a similar role with significant ownership of gameplay and creative quality.
• Strong practical background in game design.
• Capability to shape core gameplay loops, systems, features, progression, content, and the overall player experience.
• Experience in creating or reviewing high-level Game Design Documents (GDDs) and creative briefs.
• Excellent visual judgment.
• Skill in reviewing art direction, UI/UX, concepts, and production assets while providing constructive, actionable feedback.
• Practical understanding of game development across Design, Art, Tech, QA, and Production disciplines.
• Ability to evaluate feasibility and release requirements with relevant leads.
• Experience in communication with clients, partners, or business stakeholders.
• Ability to translate commercial goals into a practical product direction.
• Strong skills in facilitation, decision-making, organization, documentation, and communication.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Capacity to work independently across functions while collaborating with an established Project Manager.
• Preferred: experience in external, co-development, or client-led game production, particularly with licensed intellectual property, branded entertainment, or trend-driven concepts.
• Preferred: familiarity with mobile, web, free-to-play, casual, or hybrid game development and complete release planning.
• Preferred: knowledge of prototyping, market and competitor research, and AI-assisted tools.
