This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Establish and maintain the creative vision, standards, and operational methods for both art and copy.
• Oversee integrated creative strategy and execution for a diverse range of brands, audiences, channels, and intricate client projects.
• Mentor Associate Creative Directors and other creative leaders by providing direction, coaching, and decision-making authority.
• Foster a collaborative environment where art and copy work together as an integrated partnership to produce strategically sound and engaging work.
• Act as the senior creative voice during pivotal client discussions, brand strategy sessions, concept presentations, and executive meetings.
• Cultivate trusted relationships with senior clients by aligning creative recommendations with brand strategies, audience requirements, and business goals.
• Offer creative guidance and address complex challenges related to strategy, craftsmanship, client feedback, regulatory standards, timelines, staffing, and resources.
• Ensure accountability for the quality, strategic alignment, accuracy, and regulatory compliance of creative outputs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to shape briefs, brand strategies, communication plans, and innovative solutions for clients.
• Develop the leadership pipeline within the department through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and effective delegation.
• Monitor the effectiveness and health of the creative function to enhance quality, efficiency, collaboration, and scalability.
• Remain informed about trends in healthcare, culture, technology, media, and creativity, translating insights into improved work and agency-wide perspectives.
• Report directly to an executive creative leader.
• Bachelor’s degree in advertising, communications, marketing, design, life sciences, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• A minimum of 16 years of creative experience, with significant exposure to a pharmaceutical or healthcare agency environment.
• At least five years of progressive leadership experience, including oversight of multidisciplinary teams and other team leaders, demonstrating success in team building, developing senior talent, managing performance, and resource planning amid competing priorities.
• A solid background in either art or copy, with a proven ability to assess, direct, and elevate both areas.
• A portfolio showcasing strategically grounded concepts, integrated campaigns, and high-quality work across various channels and audiences.
• Established experience in managing complex, high-value client relationships, brand planning, and creative initiatives across multiple brands or accounts.
• Strong business acumen, including an understanding of scopes, budgets, staffing, utilization, profitability, and agency growth.
• Excellent communication, presentation, persuasion, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to balance ambitious creative thinking with strategic, regulatory, operational, and commercial considerations.
• A copy of your work portfolio will be required for subsequent interview stages.
