Counselor, Telehealth

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Complete patient databases, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other necessary documentation.

• Provide patients with an overview of the program, detailing objectives, phase requirements, rules, sanctions, service hours, and patient rights.

• Evaluate patients and assign them to treatment phases based on applicable standards.

• Organize and maintain patient files.

• Support patients in crisis by identifying resources and coping strategies.

• Counsel patients who are not adhering to program requirements.

• Coordinate referrals to community agencies and resources.

• Conduct treatment plan evaluations.

• Engage in case conferences and case reviews.

• Stay informed about federal, state, and agency regulations regarding confidentiality, methadone treatment, and substance abuse counseling certification.

• Prepare correspondence for supervisor review and approval.

• Gather necessary patient documentation.

• Provide monthly and quarterly statistical reports to the supervisor.

• Attend team meetings and complete required training courses.

• Carry out other assigned duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hold a license that aligns with Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) qualifications or a certification recognized by the Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs.

• Maintain the necessary continuing education hours and/or units (CEH or CEU).

• An associate degree or higher in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services or a related field is required.

• Prior experience in substance abuse counseling is preferred.

• Experience with dependency and/or medication-assisted treatment is preferred.

• Preferred certifications/licenses include CATC IV, CATC III, CATC II, CATC I, LMFT, LPC, LCSW, SUDCC III-CS, SUDCC III, and SUDCC II.
