Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform telephonic triage and evaluations for behavioral health, substance use, relationship, and work-life issues.

• Oversee and coordinate cases from initial intake through to resolution, including necessary follow-ups.

• Make clinical decisions in line with company risk policies and in the best interest of members.

• Link members with network providers and resources for financial, legal, personal assistance, and work-life support.

• Deliver assigned in-person and telehealth assessments, triage, coaching, and brief solution-oriented counseling.

• Collaborate with colleagues and after-hours service providers to ensure case completion and follow-up.

• Consult with service providers, manage referrals, and finalize session authorizations.

• Keep timely, accurate, and professional records in the case management system.

• Work with Human Resources professionals and client-organization supervisory staff regarding employee issues.

• Stay informed about industry practices, ethical guidelines, and relevant licensure requirements.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or another field related to behavioral health.

• Minimum of five years of experience as an EAP counselor or in a comparable behavioral health clinical position.

• Proficient in assessment, triage, crisis support, research, referral, and case management skills.

• Familiarity with behavioral health conditions, levels of care, and discharge planning protocols.

• Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations and the proper management of Protected Health Information (PHI).

• Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office and other Windows-based software and applications.

• Excellent communication, clinical judgment, organizational, and documentation abilities.

• A professional license may be necessary for roles that involve in-person counseling; preferred credentials will be listed.
