This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide expert advice to clients regarding procurement strategies while overseeing vendor prequalification, proposals, bids, bid leveling, interviews, and appointments.
• Oversee comprehensive project estimating for construction, fees, direct work, and various associated costs.
• Evaluate estimates from junior team members and deliver estimates, value engineering suggestions, and risk evaluations to clients.
• Examine, validate, and contest vendor costs by utilizing benchmark data from other projects.
• Create cost-reporting timelines and assess as well as present cost reports and forecasts.
• Review project budgets and spending projections with clients while maintaining commercial risk registers.
• Facilitate regular meetings with project teams and vendors.
• Oversee cost control activities, including payment application evaluations, contractor entitlements, change orders, payment requests, and contractual disputes.
• Manage and track invoicing processes.
• Compare performance against successful commissions.
• Handle final accounting, post-contract audits, and account closures.
• Conduct post-contract reviews, document lessons learned, and develop training materials.
• Establish project handover procedures.
• Utilize and prepare Bid Analysis Sheets, Change Control Forms, Cost Estimating Software, and Take-off Software.
• Comply with relevant SOX control responsibilities.
• A Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related construction field.
• A minimum of 3–5 years of pertinent experience in a cost management role within the construction industry.
• RICS accreditation or progress towards RICS accreditation is advantageous.
• Background in supporting cost management for medium to large-scale building construction, renovation, retrofit, or capital improvement projects.
• Experience in construction consultancy is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of technical aspects of the construction industry, including procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Capability to utilize or create Bid Analysis Sheets, Change Control Forms, Cost Estimating Software, and Take-off Software.
• Ability to comply with applicable SOX controls.
