
Cost Estimator – Data Center Programs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and uphold conceptual, schematic, design development, and detailed cost estimates throughout the entirety of the project lifecycle
• Construct and sustain cost models for planning, budgeting, and high-level decision-making
• Compare costs against similar data center, mission-critical, industrial, and infrastructure projects
• Conduct quantity takeoffs and pricing for mechanical systems, electrical systems, site utilities, civil infrastructure, and building systems
• Keep up-to-date with current market pricing, labor assumptions, escalation factors, and productivity data
• Assist in value engineering and cost optimization efforts
• Formulate and maintain project budgets from initial concept through to construction
• Aid in capital planning, investment analysis, and commercial decision-making
• Monitor budget movements and clarify variances
• Assess cost impacts of design alterations, scope changes, and procurement decisions
• Deliver precise forecasting and budget transparency during project execution
• Review, validate, and scrutinize contractor, consultant, and trade partner estimates
• Identify gaps, exclusions, assumptions, contingencies, and cost risks
• Assist in bid evaluations, subcontractor leveling, and procurement activities
• Prepare independent cost opinions and conduct estimate reviews
• Collaborate with scheduling and program controls teams to evaluate schedule impacts
• Assess cost ramifications of acceleration, delays, resequencing, long-lead procurement changes, and scope modifications
• Quantify escalation, extended general conditions, and remobilization costs
• Align cost forecasts with master schedules
• Work alongside development, engineering, construction, utility, commissioning, and PMO teams
• Engage in project planning sessions, design reviews, and program discussions
• Present estimate assumptions, risks, and recommendations to project teams and leadership
• Support funding reviews, project reporting, and executive presentations
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
• Over 5 years of experience in estimating, cost management, preconstruction, commercial management, or capital project delivery
• Experience in supporting data center projects, mission-critical facilities, industrial construction, infrastructure programs, energy or utility projects, or large-scale commercial developments
• Familiarity with estimating complex mechanical, electrical, civil, or infrastructure systems
• Proficient in reviewing and validating contractor estimates, budgets, and pricing assumptions
• Strong understanding of cost planning, quantity takeoffs, budget formulation, procurement processes, schedule impacts on costs, and capital project delivery
• Experience with estimating software such as CostX, On-Screen Takeoff, Sage Estimating, Bluebeam, or similar platforms
• Working knowledge of Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
• Possess strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Preferred: experience supporting hyperscale or large-scale data center developments
• Preferred: experience as an owner's representative, EPC, construction management, or developer-side experience
• Preferred: experience estimating projects with a construction value exceeding $100M
• Preferred: experience with medium-voltage infrastructure, utility systems, substations, microgrids, or on-site generation solutions
• Preferred: experience in capital planning, project finance, or investment review
• Professional certification such as CCP, PE, CEM, CCM, PQS, or similar is preferred
• Preferred: experience working within multi-project campus development programs
• Ability to meet specified physical demands, with reasonable accommodations available
