Corporate Process Engineer – PP & FS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, assess, and enhance manufacturing techniques across chemical processing operations.

• Provide support for both batch and continuous manufacturing processes, focusing on web handling, solids handling, and polymer processing unit operations.

• Ensure systems are in place to maintain the consistent quality of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.

• Offer technical assistance for manufacturing challenges within chemical processing operations.

• Serve as a technical link between R&T, Technical Service, Marketing & Sales, and Manufacturing.

• Facilitate process enhancements, the introduction of new products, and scaling activities.

• Oversee and optimize plant efficiency, throughput, yield, and reliability to achieve supply, quality, and cost goals.

• Provide technical direction to Site Process Engineers and plant teams regarding chemical unit operations, process troubleshooting, and equipment performance.

• Collaborate on engineering analyses for capital and expense projects, including design, equipment selection, vendor assessment, cost estimates, and life-cycle cost evaluation.

• Utilize principles of mass and energy balances, heat and momentum transfer, as well as reaction and separation fundamentals in process and equipment design.

• Ensure the consistent implementation of Process Safety Management principles, including Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis, and process safety documentation.

• Lead or assist in Root Cause Analysis and CAPA development for process disturbances, quality deviations, equipment malfunctions, and safety incidents.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of engineering experience in a chemical or chemically-related manufacturing setting.

• Proficiency in general chemical processing operations, encompassing both batch and continuous processes.

• Working knowledge of web handling, including paper machines, filament/fiber spinning and handling, polymer-related unit operations, pump systems, extrusion, and bulk material handling equipment.

• Experience in or supporting PSM-regulated manufacturing facilities.

• Capability to work efficiently at all organizational levels, from plant operations to corporate leadership.

• Background in participating in or leading Root Cause Analysis and Process Hazard Analysis activities.

• Familiarity with PLCs and distributed control systems such as Emerson DeltaV and Honeywell Experion (preferred).

• Experience with process modeling or simulation tools (preferred).

• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (preferred).

• Willingness and capacity to travel up to 50% to meet business requirements.
