This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.
• Develop financial forecasts for banking license and payment institution/EMI applications, encompassing P&L, balance sheet, capital, and liquidity.
• Manage funds and regulatory capital planning, focusing on requirements, headroom, and growth and stress scenarios.
• Model safeguarding and payment buffers for regulated entities.
• Assist legal, compliance, and regulatory teams throughout application processes and Q&A cycles.
• Justify assumptions and revise projections to meet deadlines.
• Align license and capital models with the company's financial model and actual results.
• Create business and investment cases for new markets, products, and initiatives.
• Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses for the CEO, CFO, and Supervisory Board.
• Evaluate profitability and unit economics at the product, segment, and market levels.
• Prepare materials for board meetings and investors.
• Facilitate fundraising by preparing models, responding to due diligence inquiries, and addressing investor questions.
• Support M&A workstreams through valuation, structuring analysis, and due diligence.
• Collaborate with selected functions on planning, cost, and investment decisions.
• Perform ad-hoc analyses as required.
• Work closely with the VP of Finance as a key member of the senior Corporate Finance team.
• Over 4 years of experience in corporate finance, strategic finance, financial modeling, transaction services, or within a bank or fintech finance function.
• Developed or significantly maintained advanced financial models for a bank, fintech, or financial institution.
• Familiarity with regulatory financial models, including license applications, capital planning, ICAAP/ILAAP, or regulatory reporting.
• Proficient Excel/Google Sheets modeling skills, emphasizing structure, transparency, and error-proofing.
• Strong understanding of the three financial statements and their interrelations.
• Knowledge of banking or fintech economics, including interchange, net interest income, funding, and capital.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a healthy sense of perfectionism.
• Structured thinking and a strong ownership mentality.
• Comfortable working independently with the CFO, CEO, and stakeholders at the board level.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with BI tools such as Metabase, Looker, or Tableau (preferred).
• Experience with Python (preferred).
• Hands-on experience using AI tools such as LLMs and copilots in modeling, analysis, and reporting workflows (preferred).
• Background in treasury, capital management, or regulatory reporting (preferred).
• Experience in a firm seeking or possessing a banking license (preferred).
• Background with Big Four, investment banking, or consulting followed by an in-house fintech role (preferred).
