Corporate Finance Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Assist the Strategic Finance segment of the Corporate Finance team, encompassing Strategic Finance, Corporate Development, and Investor Relations / Capital Markets.

• Develop unit economics frameworks and tailored financial models that guide go/no-go decisions regarding new products, features, and growth experiments.

• Rigorously evaluate proposed initiatives using metrics such as break-even lift, maximum affordable offer, payback period, and contribution per member.

• Collaborate with Growth, Product, and Analytics teams to assess financial impacts and evaluate trade-offs among investment options.

• Work alongside the data team to monitor post-launch product performance against the projected case and identify deviations from the plan.

• Convert financial results and KPIs into concise, decision-ready reports for both internal and external stakeholders, including leadership.

• Assist with additional Corporate Finance initiatives, including market screens and due diligence support.

• Engage in team meetings, Slack discussions, and social activities as part of the remote intern experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong enthusiasm for understanding how a consumer tech business generates revenue and for financial work that determines capital allocation.

• Proficient in Excel and Google Sheets, adept at working with multiple data sets to derive insights.

• Familiarity with financial modeling concepts, including driver-based forecasts, cohort retention, LTV and CAC, and contribution margin.

• Excellent analytical skills and comfort in using data to convey a narrative.

• Exposure to SQL or BI tools (such as Snowflake, Looker, Amplitude) is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities, including the capacity to defend financial figures to a senior audience.

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, computer science, or another quantitative discipline.

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

• Organized, proactive, and innovative problem solver.

• Eagerness to learn in a dynamic environment.

• Candidates may be located anywhere in Canada.

• Minimum 6-hour overlap with the Eastern Time Zone is required.

• Must be available for a 40-hour work week.

• Required to work during core hours of 9/10 am–5/6 pm EST, Monday to Friday, unless pre-approved time off is granted.

• Must reside in the country where their educational institution is located for the entire duration of the internship.
