Corporate Development Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Identify and assess potential acquisition targets, concentrating on SaaS, AI-driven enterprises, and emerging technology firms

• Establish and sustain an acquisition pipeline through proactive sourcing, networking, and thorough market research

• Oversee financial analysis, business valuation, due diligence, and deal structuring

• Evaluate targets based on financial performance, technology, product-market fit, growth potential, and strategic alignment

• Cultivate relationships with founders, investors, investment bankers, and other key stakeholders

• Collaborate with executive leadership to formulate and implement Employer.com's M&A strategy

• Lead negotiations and manage transaction processes from initial outreach to closing

• Assess AI and automation prospects within existing and potential portfolio companies

• Work alongside internal teams on post-acquisition integration and value creation

• Keep abreast of SaaS, AI, and startup market trends to uncover emerging investment opportunities

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience in investment banking (preferably in software/technology M&A), corporate development at a fund or PE-backed organization, or a senior business development position with direct M&A exposure

• Experience in working with or evaluating SaaS businesses, encompassing an understanding of recurring revenue models, SaaS metrics, and valuation

• Startup experience in dynamic, entrepreneurial settings

• Strong understanding of AI technologies and the ability to utilize AI to enhance workflow

• Proficiency in financial modeling, business valuation, due diligence, and transaction analysis

• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication abilities

• Capability to independently oversee multiple projects and priorities

• Comfort in working closely with founders, executives, and senior leadership

• Experience in evaluating early-stage and growth-stage technology enterprises

• Familiarity with post-acquisition integration and operational value creation

• Located in the San Francisco Bay Area
