This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Create and implement communication strategies that align with business unit goals, enhance employee engagement, provide operational updates, and ensure leadership visibility.
• Collaborate with business unit leaders and subject matter experts to assess communication requirements, suggest strategies, and produce precise, timely content.
• Draft, revise, and organize employee announcements, leader messages, talking points, newsletter articles, intranet posts, presentations, video scripts, and Q&A documents.
• Simplify intricate business, operational, and functional information into clear, concise, and audience-oriented communications.
• Oversee reviews, approvals, distribution schedules, and channel execution in coordination with Corporate Communications, HR, Legal, and business stakeholders.
• Maintain communication calendars, editorial plans, distribution lists, and message tracking for the business unit.
• Collect feedback, analyze engagement metrics, and suggest enhancements for content and communication channels.
• Utilize Fortrea’s voice, tone, brand standards, and editorial guidelines in all communications.
• Manage sensitive or confidential information with care and escalate issues as necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Travel up to 10% domestically or internationally; occasional drives to site locations.
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, English, marketing, business, or a related discipline.

• Proficient writing, editing, proofreading, message development, and content planning abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, approvals, and stakeholder inputs with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate effective working relationships with business partners and communication colleagues.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 tools, intranet or employee communication platforms, and basic communication analytics.
• Familiarity with AI tools and the ability to utilize them efficiently to boost productivity and communication material development, while exercising sound judgment to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.
• Proficiency in English is required; additional language skills are advantageous for engaging with global stakeholders.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate communications, internal communications, employee communications, public relations, marketing communications, or related communication roles.
• Experience collaborating with business leaders or functional teams to create communication strategies and employee-facing content.
• Proven ability to manage multiple communication projects, deadlines, and review processes simultaneously.
• Preferred: experience in healthcare, life sciences, clinical research, pharmaceutical services, or a regulated global business environment.
• Preferred: experience in supporting business unit communications, change communications, employee engagement initiatives, or leadership visibility programs.
• Preferred: experience with intranet publishing, newsletter production, town hall support, presentation creation, video production, or content measurement.
• Demonstrated ability to distill complex subjects and craft polished communications for a global employee audience.
