This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate and interpret clinical data from medical records to ensure adherence to IVR coding standards and LCD/NCD regulations.
• Perform retrospective and/or concurrent assessments of Interventional Radiology charges.
• Document findings and provide insights to personnel involved in charge capture, billing processes, and coding.
• Detect overcoding, undercoding, and missed coding opportunities.
• Present, educate, and communicate findings to enhance compliance.
• Support leadership with special initiatives that review IVR charges reported by departments and validated by coding.
• Ensure adherence to guidelines for code and modifier assignments.
• Aid in developing educational materials based on identified deficiencies.
• Collaborate closely with clinical departments and outpatient coding teams.
• A minimum of 5 years of outpatient Interventional Radiology coding and auditing experience.
• Proficient knowledge and experience with the MS Office suite.
• Strong technical expertise and familiarity with electronic medical records.
• Successful completion of at least one AHIMA or AAPC certified program and corresponding credential attainment.
• Coding certification such as CPC, CCS, CIRCC.
• An Associate's degree or higher in a Health Information Management field is preferred.
• Preferred credentials include CIRCC / RHIT / RHIA along with CCS or CPC.
• If mandated by applicable law, must provide proof of full vaccination or obtain an approved religious or medical exemption prior to the start date; exempt personnel must undergo regular testing.
• The position may qualify for a signing bonus for eligible new hires, contingent on employment status.
